Position: Registered Early Childhood Educator

Location: Mississauga (1 position), Full Time, Permanent

We are looking for a dynamic, caring and self-motivated registered ECE who is seeking a challenging position in a warm and professional workplace. This person has to be fluent in both English and Mandarin.

The job responsibility includes but is not limited to the following:

· Engage meaningfully with children to support their physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children

· Maintain, clean and organize an inspirational learning environment

· Plan and implement age-appropriate, child-centered activities for children, such as media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity

· Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor

· Model positive adult/child relationships

· Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members

· Ensure an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children

· Promote a welcoming environment for all families and community members

· Work on a rotated shift and any other shift as required

· Develop and implement with your “team” individual and group curriculums





· May plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours

Qualified candidates must demonstrate the following skills:

· Completion of a two- to four-year college program in early childhood education or a bachelor’s degree in child development, Licensing by a provincial or territorial association for ECE

· Experience in licensed childcare (preferred)

· Ability to successfully carry out ECE duties and any other responsibilities

· Possess excellent behavior guidance skills that include positive reinforcement and redirection strategies

· Skills and interests in creative art, drama, music, science, literacy and numeracy programs

· Working knowledge of the City of Toronto Operating Criteria, Child Care and Early Years Act, How Does Learning Happen/Emergent curriculum

· A clear Health and Police Reference Check is mandatory prior to employment

· Hold a valid standard First Aid/CPR certificate

· Adequate energy level and ability to meet the physical demands of the job. Job requires frequent lifting up to 20 lbs; bending, kneeling, crouching.
