Drive Indigenous student success at Douglas College as the Manager of Indigenous Student Engagement. Oversee community development projects and strengthen connections with Indigenous communities.
Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Student Affairs, this position focuses on planning and leading initiatives vital to Indigenous students' educational experiences. Your role will include close collaboration with local Nations, academic initiatives, and community partners to enhance belonging and promote mutual understanding.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the Protocol Officer to build community relationships
• Implement initiatives for Indigenous student pathways and recruitment
• Organize culturally relevant community events and programs
• Support the Indigenous Community Council’s planning and initiatives
• Monitor engagement trends to improve recruitment strategies
Requirements:
• Master’s degree in Indigenous Studies or similar
• Minimum three years of leadership experience
• Proven track record in community engagement
• Robust interpersonal and communication abilities
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion principles
