Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Take and develop digital radiographs (X-rays) to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment options
- Assist the dentist during examinations, procedures, and treatments with precision and professionalism
- Manage patient records using dental practice management software such as Tracker, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Communicate effectively with diverse patient populations, including pediatrics and bilingual clients, ensuring comfort and understanding
- Maintain a clean, organized operatories environment adhering to infection control protocols
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice
- Proven experience working in a dental office setting, preferably with pediatric patients and orthodontic procedures
- Proficiency with Tracker or similar dental management software is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental care
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to connect positively with patients of all ages
- Bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities effectively
- Prior experience in dental assisting or related roles is beneficial but not required
