Our Complex Care Registered Nurses care for a wide range of patients with complex medical care issues. All nurses are set up for success and go through a comprehensive onsite orientation program, led by experienced health care professionals and educators. As a member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, the Registered Nurse coordinates and evaluates patient care, and provides nursing care according to the Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses.
- Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nursing of Ontario as a Registered Nurse
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
- Demonstrated current knowledge of assessment and management of a broad range of medical diagnosis including respiratory, cardiac, musculoskeletal, palliative care, mental health, geriatric, general surgery
- Demonstrated expertise in physical assessment,
health teaching and clinical decision making
- Proficient in insertion of intravenous lines
- Blood Glucose Testing by finger prick
- Demonstrated proficiency in working with patients, families, peers and multidisciplinary healthcare teams in a effective, professional, caring manner
- Demonstrated excellent problem-solving and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated leadership ability and organizational skills, ongoing career development
- Ability to perform well in high stress situations
- Demonstrated current knowledge of cardiac and respiratory arrest procedures
- RNAO member preferred
