Support the upkeep of facilities as a Maintenance Labourer with Halifax Water. This role involves cleaning, grounds maintenance, and equipment support at the water supply plant.

Under the direction of the Plant Supervisor, you will perform essential maintenance tasks for building operations. Key responsibilities include janitorial duties, grounds upkeep, and assisting with equipment maintenance. This position requires physical strength and a commitment to safety in accordance with the plant’s ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform janitorial duties across the water supply plant
• Maintain grounds, including snow removal and landscaping
• Load and unload deliveries, including treatment chemicals




• Assist with maintenance tasks for plant equipment
• Follow safety protocols and regulations as per EMS

Requirements:
• Grade 12 education or equivalent
• Previous experience in facility maintenance
• Certifications in confined space and dangerous goods transportation
• WHMIS and First Aid training beneficial
• Ability to perform physically demanding labor
