Become a key player in the Reach Out initiative as a Mental Health and Addiction Support Worker in London, Ontario, with the Canadian Mental Health Association. You'll assist individuals dealing with mental health challenges through various communication platforms, including calls and texts.
Working with the 988 service, your role will involve providing immediate crisis support and resources to clients while fostering therapeutic relationships. This full time position features a rotating schedule, ensuring support is available around the clock, and contributes to community well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess and respond to crisis situations through diverse channels
• Build therapeutic relationships for effective client engagement
• Facilitate access to mental health resources
• Collaborate with local crisis teams
• Provide follow-up support as necessary
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in a relevant field
• Valid Police Vulnerable Sector Check required
• Experience in addiction or mental health services preferred
• Familiarity with regional community resources advantageous
• Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings
