We are looking for compassionate, reliable, and proactive Waking Night Support Workers to join our teams across our homes in the Portsmouth area (PO1 & PO2). You will be supporting people with profound learning disabilities, complex physical disabilities, and a range of health needs. Experience supporting people with autism and an understanding of behaviours of distress would be advantageous, although a calm, patient, and person-centred approach is most important. Working independently during overnight hours, you'll be responsible for promoting wellbeing, maintaining a safe setting, and providing high-quality support tailored to each person's individual needs. What You'll Be Doing
Carrying out regular wellbeing and safety checks, ensuring the people we support feel safe, secure, and comfortable throughout the night.
Maintaining a clean, hygienic, and welcoming environment, including cleaning kitchens and bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, completing laundry and ironing, and undertaking deep-cleaning tasks such as refrigerator cleaning.
Accurately recording important information using our user-friendly digital systems, including support notes, care plans, incident records, and health and safety documentation.
Creating a calm, therapeutic, and reassuring atmosphere that promotes comfort, wellbeing, and restful nights.
Supporting individuals to spend their evenings and overnight hours in ways that are meaningful to them, respecting their preferences, routines, and independence.
Providing personal care and health-related support when required, always with dignity, respect,
and compassion.
Working closely with colleagues and following support plans to ensure consistent, person-centred care.
Is caring, patient, and committed to improving the lives of others.
Remains calm and confident in a variety of situations.
Is comfortable working independently during night shifts.
Has good communication and record-keeping skills.
Understands the importance of dignity, choice, and person-centred support.
