The School
Psychologist position includes opportunities to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment in the context of the Learning Support Services Department and with school personnel.
Provide ongoing collaborative consultation and planning for students and classrooms through school-based team meetings and care team meetings Provide professional learning opportunities for educators and support staff Note: Should no qualified candidates be available, the District will review applications for paid, supervised internships that would meet the 1,800-hour internship requirement. Master’s Degree in School Psychology, Educational Psychology or equivalent Possess or eligible for membership in the BC Association of School Psychologists and/or the College of Psychologists BC Training and supervision in the assessment of Learning Disabilities Teacher Regulation Branch is considered an asset Knowledge of Competency Based IEPs is an asset Organization & Planning: Ability to plan and organize for effective instruction, differentiation and assessment Facilitation & Engagement: Ability to capture and maintain students’ interest, effort, participation and enthusiasm for both the content and the process of learning Assessment & Coaching: Utilize balanced assessment and feedback to improve student learning including the use of formative and summative assessment strategies.
