Our Lethbridge accounting firm is looking for a Senior Accountant with experience in public practice to join our team.

Our full service firm offers corporate year end services, including compilation and review engagements, corporate and personal tax return preparation, tax consulting, and business advisory services.

Our ideal candidate will have an appropriate mix of experience and education, excellent computer skills, be extremely accurate and organized and be capable of working under the pressure of a tight deadline when needed.

Main Responsibilities include:

· Preparation of review engagements under ASPE

· Preparation of compilation engagements

· Preparation of corporate tax returns

· Tax planning for owner managed businesses and individuals

· Preparation of complex personal income tax returns

· Preparation and review of compliance documentation, specifically GST returns and T-slip reporting (T4s, T5s, etc.)

· Preparation of professional letters and emails to clients and CRA

· Inquiries and discussions with CRA as required

Skills and Strengths Needed:

· Strong business computer skills

· Skilled with various accounting/bookkeeping software including Caseware/Caseview, Profile (or similar) tax software, Quickbooks, Sage, Microsoft Office products

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and present new ideas and conceptualize new approaches and solutions





· Attention to detail and accuracy

· Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines consistently and manage multiple tasks

· Ability to work independently or as part of a team

· Robust work ethic

· Strong command of both written and verbal English, with an excellent grasp of appropriate business grammar and terminology

· Positive attitude/team player and the desire to provide excellent customer service

Experience & Education:

· CPA designation, CFE writer, or enrolment in the CPA program. An accounting degree or diploma, with relevant work experience, would also be considered.

· Minimum of 3 years’ experience at a Canadian public practice firm, with significant work in the Main Responsibilities areas listed above. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the completion of review engagements

· Corporate and personal income tax experience
