Steel City Auto Care is hiring a highly experienced automotive technician who specializes in European vehicles and can diagnose and complete complex repairs independently. This is not an entry-level or basic-service position. We need a proven technician who can take ownership of a vehicle from diagnosis through final repair and quality check, with minimal supervision.

The ideal candidate is confident working on BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, MINI, Volvo, Land Rover and other European makes, while also being capable of repairing domestic and Asian vehicles. We offer strong hourly compensation based on demonstrated ability, European-vehicle expertise, licensing and productivity.

What You Will Do

· Independently diagnose mechanical, electrical and drivability concerns using scan data, wiring diagrams, test equipment and sound diagnostic processes.

· Complete major and general repairs, including engines, timing systems, cooling systems, head gaskets, transmissions, clutches, drivetrain, suspension, steering, brakes, HVAC and electrical systems.

· Perform advanced repairs and maintenance on European vehicles using manufacturer-appropriate procedures and specifications.

· Inspect vehicles thoroughly, identify required and recommended work, and communicate findings clearly to the service advisor or manager.

· Verify repairs through road tests, scan checks and quality-control procedures before the vehicle is returned to the customer.

· Use diagnostic scanners, hand tools, power tools, hoists and shop equipment safely and efficiently.

· Maintain accurate work notes and a clean, protected and organized work area.

· Support less-experienced team members when appropriate while remaining accountable for assigned jobs.

What We Are Looking For





· At least 5 years of hands-on automotive repair experience; extensive European-vehicle experience is required.

· Proven ability to diagnose faults and complete complex repairs correctly without ongoing supervision.

· Strong experience with BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen or comparable European brands.

· Ontario 310S Automotive Service Technician licence is strongly preferred. Highly experienced non-licensed applicants may also be considered based on demonstrated skill.

· Comfortable with engine, transmission, timing, electrical, suspension, steering, HVAC and drivability work - not only routine maintenance.

· Valid driver's licence and a clean, safe driving record.

· Reliable, punctual, productive and committed to professional workmanship.

· Must provide own standard technician hand tools; specialized shop equipment is provided.

Compensation and Work Environment

· $40.00-$55.00 per hour, depending on demonstrated experience, licensing, diagnostic ability and European-vehicle expertise.

· A higher rate may be considered for an exceptional technician with verifiable master-level European experience.

· Full-time hours with consistent repair work and opportunity to grow with an expanding independent shop.

· On-site parking.

· Relocation or housing assistance may be considered for an outstanding candidate.

Schedule

Full-time, in person. Monday to Saturday availability may be required. Final schedule will be discussed with the selected candidate.
