Elevate student outcomes as an Occupational Therapy Assistant with the Peel District School Board. This vital role in Mississauga emphasizes specialized equipment coordination and holistic support for diverse learners.
As part of the Special Education department, the Occupational Therapy Assistant will report to the Occupational Therapist Manager, focusing on enhancing equipment management and assisting in student accessibility. You’ll engage with students to promote safety, participation, and independence through the use of sensory, mobility, and technology-related equipment, adapting to their unique needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate transfers and inventory for specialized equipment • Inspect safety and perform maintenance on loaned equipment • Develop training resources for staff on equipment use • Assist in modeling techniques for student self-care • Collaborate with interprofessional teams for service delivery
Requirements: • Graduate of OTA college diploma program • 6 months to 1 year relevant experience preferred • Knowledge of specialized student equipment • Proficiency in asset management databases • Valid Ontario Driver’s License required
