A well-established organization is seeking an experienced
Senior Payroll Specialist to join its People & Culture team. This role will oversee full-cycle Canadian payroll, benefits administration, compliance, employee support, and payroll/HR system improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Process multiple payroll cycles for salaried, hourly, and contract employees.
- Manage payroll changes, deductions, bonuses, expenses, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Oversee advantages and retirement programs, including annual renewals.
- Manage government remittances, year-end reporting, and Records of Employment.
- Respond to employee payroll and benefits inquiries.
- Maintain confidentiality, accuracy, and compliance with Canadian payroll legislation.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and system enhancements.
Requirements
- 5–10+ years of Canadian full-cycle payroll experience.
- PCP designation required
; CPM is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
- Experience with payroll software; ADP is an asset.
- Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and PivotTables.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
