Our client in the insurance sector is seeking ac contract based Senior Systems Analyst to support business-critical billing and accounting applications and related data integrations.

This role requires strong SQL expertise, experience working with financial or billing systems, and the ability to analyze and support data flows across on-premise and cloud environments.

Location: Primarily remote (once a month Toronto office)

Responsibilities

- Analyze, support, and enhance enterprise billing and accounting systems and associated applications.
- Investigate complex application, data, integration, and reconciliation issues.
- Write and optimize advanced SQL queries for data analysis, troubleshooting, reporting, and validation.
- Analyze data flows and integrations between billing, accounting, and other enterprise platforms.
- Support cloud and hybrid data flows, including integrations between on-premise and cloud-based environments.
- Work with technical and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into system and technical requirements.
- Perform root-cause analysis and recommend solutions for application and data-related issues.
- Support system enhancements, testing, implementation, and production releases.




- Create and maintain functional and technical documentation, including process flows, data mappings, and system requirements.
- Collaborate with developers, application support teams, finance/accounting stakeholders, and other technology teams.

Requirements

- 7+ years of experience as a Systems Analyst, Senior Systems Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or similar technical role.
- Advanced hands-on SQL skills, including complex queries, data analysis, troubleshooting, and reconciliation.
- Strong experience working with billing, accounting, financial, or transaction-processing systems.
- Experience analyzing integrations and data flows across multiple enterprise applications.
- Experience with cloud and hybrid architectures/data flows.
- Experience with Google BigQuery is a solid asset.
- Strong understanding of databases, data structures, interfaces, APIs, and system integrations.
- Demonstrated ability to investigate complex application and data issues and work with technical teams through resolution.
- Solid requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Experience within insurance, health benefits, financial services, or another highly regulated environment is an asset.
