Empower young individuals in Alberta as an Advocate with the Office of the Child and Youth Advocate in Edmonton. This full-time role is vital in promoting youth rights within the child welfare and justice systems.

Join the OCYA team as you work directly with youth, facilitating their self-advocacy and engagement in key decisions affecting their lives. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to address systemic issues, as well as providing education about youth rights and the OCYA's mission. You'll play a crucial role in identifying trends and advocating effectively for youth needs.

Key Responsibilities:
• Understand and amplify young people’s perspectives
• Engage with families and community members regularly




• Recognize systemic issues impacting youth
• Deliver educational initiatives about youth rights
• Collaborate on strategic advocacy priorities

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in social work, law, or social sciences
• Four years' relevant experience with youth in various systems
• Leadership experience preferred
• Must have a valid class 5 driver's license
• Valuable experience with Indigenous communities preferred
