Your Role and Impact
The Solutions Engineer serves as ViewSonic's dedicated technical resource for
Canada , providing national coverage and support across the country. In this role, you will support direct-view LED (dvLED) and broader ProAV solutions across the full project lifecycle from pre-sales technical discovery through installation, commissioning, and post-sale support. This is a hands-on role: the Solutions Engineer is expected to perform physical installation and commissioning work personally, not only to advise on it, while also carrying traditional pre-sales solutions engineering responsibilities. Technical discovery, design validation, and customer-facing demonstrations.
This role expands ViewSonic's Solutions Engineering presence across
Canada
and the
Eastern/North Central United States , supporting a growing base of enterprise and institutional dvLED deployments.
Day to Day Responsibilities
Partner with sales and channel teams during the pre-sales process to assess customer requirements and design appropriate dvLED and ProAV solutions
Conduct on-site technical discovery, site surveys, and installation-readiness assessments
Perform hands-on installation and commissioning of dvLED systems, including cabinet alignment, calibration, signal processing configuration, and system integration
Serve as a technical escalation point during and after installation, coordinating with service, engineering, and product teams as needed
Deliver product demonstrations and proofs of concept for prospective customers and channel partners
Build and maintain relationships with integrators, consultants, and end customers across the
Canadian
market
Provide technical training and enablement to channel partners and internal sales teams, including developing training materials and solution documentation for internal and external audiences
Document site conditions, installation outcomes, and commissioning results in accordance with company standards
Represent ViewSonic in a growing regional market spanning corporate, healthcare, and education verticals
Represent ViewSonic at industry trade shows and events (e.g., InfoComm), including booth setup, show floor engagement, and teardown
Your Profile (Required Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree in Computer, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent experience, with 3+ years of related experience
Comprehensive knowledge of AV systems, including dvLED, projectors, video conferencing equipment, and digital signage
Hands-on experience with LED cabinet installation, alignment, and calibration
Working knowledge of video processing, signal distribution (HDMI, HDBaseT, AV-over-IP), and control system integration (Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS, or similar)
Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical, and structural drawings related to display installations
Proficient knowledge of networking, wireless, internet, and various computer systems and components
Strong communication, customer service, interpersonal, negotiation, and troubleshooting skills
Valid driver's license and valid passport, with the ability to travel within
Canada
and into the United States as needed
Based in or willing to relocate to the
Toronto metro area
Preferred Qualifications
Professional fluency in French (strongly preferred), written and spoken, particularly valuable for supporting Quebec-based and federally bilingual-mandated accounts
CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) certification or equivalent industry certification
Experience with ViewSonic, Samsung, LG, Planar, Absen, Daktronics, or similar dvLED manufacturer platforms
Prior experience working directly for a display or AV manufacturer in a field or solutions engineering capacity
Experience configuring and supporting enterprise unified communications and collaboration platforms (e.g.,
Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Workspace, or similar) for video conferencing and collaboration
Experience with enterprise device and application management platforms (e.g., Microsoft Intune, Google Workspace Admin, or similar)
Familiarity with the commercial AV integrator and consultant landscape across Canada
Proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Office Presence:
Field-based role, working remotely from
Toronto, ON
with the ability to travel across Canada and into the United States up to approximately 75% of the time.
Environment:
Mix of remote/home-office work and on-site customer and installation environments.
Physical Effort : Requires frequent physical demands in maintaining a continuous pace of business travel, and in maneuvering, installing, and calibrating dvLED cabinets and demo equipment. Able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
Hazards:
Moderate — this role involves working at heights and on ladders, lifts, or scaffolding during installation work, with appropriate safety training and equipment provided.
Travel:
Primary territory is
Canada (National)
and the
Eastern/North Central United States . Travel into the U.S. is a regular and expected part of this role. Additional domestic or international travel may be required depending on workload and team coverage needs.
