Retro Cannabis is a craft cannabis producer based in Charlottetown, PEI. Established in the fall of 2021, our commitment has always been to produce top-quality cannabis products with meticulous attention to detail. Under the banner "Vintage Vibes, Modern Methods," our product offerings have made their way into both provincial and private wholesale markets across Canada.

We are seeking a talented and dynamic Social Media Manager to strengthen and grow our digital presence. This unique role will involve managing the social media platforms for Retro, with the potential to support up to three additional companies under the same ownership. While the role offers flexibility and the ability to work remotely, candidates must be based in Prince Edward Island and willing to work on-site approximately once per week.

The Social Media

Manager will report directly to the senior manager of each respective company. For Retro, this position will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Key Responsibilities

- Content Development: Create and curate compelling, on-brand content across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms.
- Content Planning & Scheduling: Develop and maintain social media content calendars to ensure consistent, timely, and strategic communication across all brands.
- Digital Asset Creation: Leverage graphic design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, or similar platforms to create visually appealing digital assets.
- Photo & Video Content: Capture and develop engaging photo, video, and short-form content for use across social media platforms.
- Community Engagement: Monitor and respond to comments and DMs in a timely, professional, and brand appropriate manner.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to identify and leverage content opportunities, product launches, promotions, events, and other brand-related activities.
- Brand Management:



Help maintain a consistent brand voice, visual identity, and messaging across each company's social media presence.
- Industry Trend Monitoring: Stay current with social media trends, platform updates, tools, technologies, and best practices, and identify opportunities to incorporate them into existing strategies.
- Analytics and Reporting: Monitor key social media KPIs and provide regular reporting, insights, and recommendations to improve engagement, reach, and overall performance.
- SEO and Website Optimization: Provide input and support related to website content, user experience, SEO, and overall digital presence where applicable.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure social media content and promotional activities comply with applicable cannabis regulations, advertising requirements, and individual platform policies.

Qualifications & Desired Skills:
- Bachelor's degree, diploma, or equivalent industry experience in Marketing, Digital Media, or a related field.
- At least 18 months of experience working in social media, digital marketing, content creation, or a related role.
- Strong understanding of social media algorithms, platform-specific best practices, audience engagement, and digital marketing strategies.
- Graphic design skills and proficiency with tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, or similar platforms would be a significant asset.
- Experience creating photo, video, and short-form social media content would be considered an asset.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to adapt messaging and tone across different brands and audiences.




- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple brands, tasks, and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and execute on performance data
- Familiarity with the cannabis industry, cannabis marketing regulations, and digital marketing trends, including SEO, will be considered an asset.
- Must be at least 19 years of age.

Employment Details:
- Employment Duration: Part-time, with the potential to transition into a full-time
- Retro Hours: Approximately 7-8 hours per week (28-32 hours per month), flexible based on company needs.
- Location: Majority remote work with weekly on-site needs. Head Office is located in Charlottetown, PE.
- Compensation: $24-29/hr depending on qualifications and experience. Mileage will also be reimbursed for approved work-related travel.
- Additional businesses this role may support if transitioned to full time: Autobody Shop (~8 hours per week), Property Management Group (~8 hours per week), Residential & Commercial Dock Company (~16 hours per week)
