The Opportunity
Pioneer Construction Inc. is seeking hardworking and dependable Snow Plow Truck Drivers to support our winter maintenance operations based in the Sudbury, Ontario area. In this role, you will operate heavy-duty trucks equipped with plows, sanders, and/or water tanks to maintain safe and accessible roads, parking areas, and work sites throughout the winter season including emergency snow removal services as required.
Your Day-to-Day
- Safely load, tie down, immobilize, and secure all equipment and materials in a safe manner in accordance with Ministry of Transportation (MTO) guidelines
- Safely operate heavy-duty trucks equipped with plows, sanders, and/or water tanks for snow and ice control
- Plow snow and ice from access roads, driveways, parking lots, work sites, and other areas
- Haul snow from designated areas to disposal sites as required
- Apply salt, sand, or other de-icing materials to roads, parking lots, and work areas
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, complete vehicle inspection reports, and report unsafe conditions and accidents
- Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks
- Accurately complete daily logs, timesheets, and work orders as required
- Perform physically demanding work including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, crouching, climbing, crawling, repetitive reaching, and extended periods of standing throughout the workday
- Maintain a clean and tidy work environment and equipment
- Work in various weather conditions including inclement weather conditions
- Perform minor repairs to equipment when required
- Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment effectively
- Work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended, irregular hours On-Call as required to meet operational and project demands
- Work in accordance with all internal, client and regulated health and safety policies, procedures and/or regulations, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Perform other related duties as assigned
You Are a Good Fit If You Have
Required:
- Valid DZ or AZ class driver’s license with a clean Driver’s Abstract and CVOR
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience operating a commercial vehicle
- Prior experience in the construction industry or snow removal / maintenance industry
- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
Considered an Asset:
- Surface Miner Common Core
- Highschool Diploma or equivalent
Skills & Abilities:
- Successfully pass and maintain a clean Driver’s Abstract and CVOR
- Knowledgeable and respectful of the Highway Traffic Act and Municipality by laws and regulations
- Knowledge of loading requirements, techniques, and practices
- Strong attention to detail to ensure work quality and compliance are being appropriately monitored through inspections and observations
- Ability to perform physically intensive and strenuous tasks when required
- Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills with supervisors, coworkers, and clients
- Ability to adapt to changing job requirements and schedules
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Professional attitude and solid work ethic
What We Offer Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: $29.37 – $31.53 / hour
- $1,000 plow driver signing bonus for drivers that successfully complete their first plow season
- Plow Incentive of up to $3,000
- $5/hour call out premium
- $.50/hour plow premium available on all hours worked

This position is governed by a collective agreement. The pay range posted reflects base compensation under the applicable agreement. Placement within the range is based on experience, qualifications, and union provisions. Benefits and other incentives are offered separately. Equity & Accessibility
