Enhance patient care as a Genetic Counsellor with Shared Health in Winnipeg. Collaborate with genetics teams to provide essential counselling and education while managing comprehensive patient follow-ups.
In this full-time, in-person position at the Health Sciences Centre, you will support the Genetics Program. This role will require a Master’s degree in Genetics or Genetic Counselling, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in counselling and teaching. You will be responsible for genetic education, screening, assessment, and program coordination while contributing to research and professional development efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver genetic counselling to patients and families • Coordinate follow-ups in collaboration with genetics team • Conduct screening and assessments for genetic conditions • Provide genetic education and resources to patients • Engage in research and continued professional development
Requirements: • Master’s degree in Genetics or Genetic Counselling • Board eligible/certified with ABGC or CAGC • Experience in a medical counseling setting preferred • Competence in Indigenous languages or customs preferred • Solid communication and organizational skills
