Position Overview: The Account Specialist is deeply invested in higher education and requires a talent for cultivating relationships. A skilled sales professional with a fervent dedication to business development and providing outstanding customer service is essential to succeed.
This role establishes connections with potential business partners and educators globally.
The incumbent must be proficient in communication, and equally at ease in delivering presentations in person or through digital platforms.
With ample experience in negotiation, deal closure, and ongoing account management, this role requires a wealth of expertise in this area.
Having confidence in their current skill set, believing it will lead to success in fortifying the market position, and optimizing business performance within the academic publishing sector is essential.
Business Development & Customer Service You will own the full sales cycle, selling into Universities and Colleges across your region by understanding a professors perspective and helping them improve the classroom experience.
Build rapport with new and existing customers, analyze customers needs, and maximize the sales potential by offering products that meet those needs.
Develop and execute an account management strategy for your assigned accounts.
Engage with customers through a variety of mediums including online demonstrations, webinars, Linked
In, campus visits, e-mail campaigns, phone calls, and conferences.
Drive sales revenue by delivering curated, intentional daily outreach to territory leads, contacts and new clients by promoting Ivey Products (including cases, multimedia, simulations, articles, exercises, etc.) Respond to queries for cases and other learning materials and assist customers in finding appropriate materials for their course/s while adhering to team service response standards.
Develop presentation and customer service materials as required including power points, webinar materials and conference presentations.
Participate in academic conferences and workshops to promote Ivey cases and increase brand awareness.
Follow up on all potential leads with the goals of site registration, case suggestions, case adoptions and purchase.
Strategic Planning, Research & Analysis Assist the Director, International Business Development and Manager, Sales Operations, in conjunction with other Account Specialists, in the strategic planning of all sales and marketing activities that will increase revenue for Ivey Publishing.
Regularly develop product knowledge including case materials, distribution and learning management software developments and industry trends.
Develop strategies to increase revenue from key accounts and potential accounts, through a playbook for each account, which will serve as the guide to build and implement the strategy.
Conduct weekly analysis and research for assigned territory, including sales opportunity rankings, key learnings, sales trends and opportunities, and new market development.
Deliver monthly sales analysis reports for assigned regions.
Develop and maintain CRM database daily, including contacts, leads, and targets (both individual and institutions), enabling accurate reporting of monthly activities.
Track and analyze campaign results on an ongoing basis to identify successes and opportunities.
Qualifications: Education & Experience Undergraduate university degree.
Minimum of 2-3 years related customer service and/or sales experience in a professional corporate setting i.e.
Higher education, financial services, publishing.
Sales experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities: Proven ability to initiate, establish, and nurture meaningful business relationships with commitment to quality and exceptional customer service.
Highly effective interpersonal skills with a high level of professionalism and ability to interact with individuals at all levels of an organization.
Demonstrated tact, diplomacy, and discretion in dealing with internal and external stakeholders including senior management.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to write and present effectively and persuasively.
Competitive desire to exceed goals and grow results within a defined territory.
Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills.
Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize with an eye for detail, producing high-quality work and meeting deadlines in a demanding workplace.
Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of the team to achieve department goals.
Proven experience setting priorities based on potential revenue opportunities.
Intermediate computer skills i.e.
Microsoft office and database applications.
Experience with contact management databases, such as Salesforce.
Ability and willingness to travel internationally 10 to 12 weeks maximum per year and work outside of regular business hours.
Valid drivers license and passport required.
