OVERVIEW
A major financial institution's Personal and Business Banking team is looking for a lead developer to join as a technical point of contact and mentor within an existing development team. This person will balance hands‑on development work with code review, task coordination, and cross‑team communication.

Hourly Rate: $64 T4 / $70 IC

Location: Hybrid, 1 day per week in office downtown Toronto

RESPONSIBILITIES

Own development work across assigned applications within the AWS/Node.js stack

Conduct code reviews and help drive task completion across the team

Serve as the primary point of contact in meetings for the applications they own

Support developers with technical questions and troubleshooting

Translate technical work into terms non-technical stakeholders can understand

Manage own workload via Jira, including task tracking against delivery dates

QUALIFICATIONS

5 to 10 years of skilled software development experience

Strong hands‑on experience with TypeScript and JavaScript

Node.js runtime experience

AWS experience,



specifically Lambda, API Gateway, S3, and DynamoDB

Demonstrated experience using AI coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar) in a real production workflow, with the ability to speak to how output is validated

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences

C# experience is a plus

Prior lead or informal mentorship experience is a plus (not people management)

Banking or financial services experience is a plus, not required
