Role: Network Admin / Network Security Engineer Location: Montreal, QC Work Arrangement: Hybrid 3 Days Onsite Fulltime FTE - Permanent Experience: Senior-level Network Security Administration Industry: Financial Services Preferred Job Summary We are seeking a Senior Network Administrator / Network Security Engineer to support enterprise network security infrastructure, cloud firewalls, secure IoT deployments, and L3 operational support.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with firewalls, network security, routing/switching, cloud networking, troubleshooting, automation, and incident management .
Key Responsibilities Lead the onboarding, deployment, integration, and operational support of Secure IoT firewalls across enterprise environments.
Provide L3 network security support , troubleshooting complex incidents and collaborating with internal technology teams, senior management, and external vendors.
Administer and support network security platforms including Fortinet, Palo Alto, Juniper, GCP Cloud Native Firewalls , and related technologies.
Design, implement, and maintain firewalls, VPNs, NAT, packet filtering, stateful inspection, and host-based security controls .
Support cloud networking and security environments , including cloud-native firewall technologies and enterprise integrations.
Apply strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, OSI model, TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, static routing, BGP, and network design .
Develop automation and integration solutions using Python, Shell Scripting, Ansible, Git
Hub, data pipelines, and third-party vendor APIs .
Implement monitoring and health checks to ensure secure, resilient,
and highly available network infrastructure .
Develop and maintain operational runbooks, technical documentation, network designs, and support procedures .
Participate in Change Management, Incident Management, Incident Response, and operational on-call support as required.
Coordinate with global technology teams and vendors on design, deployment, troubleshooting, knowledge transfer, and technical training .
Provide technical support to business users and stakeholders while managing multiple priorities in a rapid-paced enterprise environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications Senior-level experience in Network Administration / Network Security Engineering .
Strong hands-on experience with enterprise firewalls and network security solutions .
Experience with Fortinet, Palo Alto, Juniper, or similar firewall platforms .
Strong understanding of VPN, NAT, packet filtering, stateful firewall inspection, and host security including iptables.
Strong networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, OSI, routing, switching, VLANs, static routing, BGP, and network architecture .
Experience working with cloud environments , preferably GCP or similar cloud platforms.
Scripting/automation experience with Python, Shell, Ansible, Git
Hub, or vendor APIs .
Experience with L3 troubleshooting, incident response, change management, monitoring, and production support .
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills with strong documentation and presentation abilities.
Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience .
Financial Services / Banking experience is strongly preferred.
