Empower youth in Brantford, ON as a Child and Youth Worker with SOAR Community Services. This full-time, temporary role focuses on assisting youth aged 14-16 in a supportive housing workplace.
In this pivotal position, you will utilize your Crisis Intervention Training to effectively manage challenging behaviors while implementing life skills training tailored to help youth develop essential coping strategies. Collaboration with partners ensures the provision of comprehensive services for high-needs youth, making a lasting impact in their lives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Intervene using Crisis Intervention Training techniques
• Assist in planning and monitoring activities for client's goals
• Build advocacy skills with clients for self-expression
• Conduct life skills training sessions in groups or individually
• Communicate with stakeholders to address youth needs
Requirements:
• Diploma in Child and Youth/Social Services preferred
• 2 years of relevant experience with complex youth needs
• Valid Driver's License needed
• Reliable transportation for travel
• Must be eligible to work in Canada
