Join WoodGreen as a Social Worker specializing in Financial Empowerment. This hybrid position focuses on guiding low-income clients through their financial challenges with support and education. As part of the Financial Empowerment team, you will provide essential financial counselling and help clients navigate tax services. This role includes overseeing the Income Tax Clinic and effectively training volunteers to extend the program's reach.
Your mission will be to alleviate poverty through empowering individuals and families. Key Responsibilities:
- Support clients with financial planning and budgeting
- Conduct financial assessments for advantages eligibility
- Facilitate tax preparation and adjustments
- Train and manage volunteers within the Tax Clinic
- Deliver workshops to enhance financial skills
Requirements:
- Degree in Social Work (BSW or MSW), RSW status
- At least 2 years of relevant case management experience
- Familiarity with Canadian financial supports
- Proven ability to work within a community setting
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a client-focus
