CCHR is seeking a dedicated Housing Lawyer to support vulnerable tenants in Ontario. This full time position requires service-oriented skills and significant knowledge of housing law. You will manage a caseload, represent clients, and collaborate across teams to advance housing rights. Your commitment helps ensure that low-income renters navigate legal challenges effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
• Represent tenants at the Landlord and Tenant Board of Ontario
• Engage in mediation with housing providers on behalf of clients
• Maintain accurate case notes and enter data into management systems
• Conduct outreach to build relationships with community partners
• Facilitate workshops about housing rights and laws
Requirements:
• Ontario lawyer with a minimum of 3 years of experience
• Experience at the Landlord and Tenant Board required
• Strong understanding of housing law and social equity issues
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software
