About Our Family
We are a busy, active family with four teenagers, one of whom lives with us full‑time and keeps a full schedule of school, competitive sports, and appointments. Our household runs at a high pace during the week, and we have worked hard to put good systems in place (weekly cleaning, daily dog walking, and outdoor maintenance are all handled). What we haven't been able to solve is the late afternoon pinch point : the scramble between wrapping up work, getting a healthy dinner on the table, and keeping up with the logistics that pile up during the day.

We both work demanding skilled schedules, often from home part of the week, and travel intermittently throughout the year. We have a big, lovable Bernedoodle who already has her own walker and groomer. We just need someone who loves dogs and is happy to pitch in when needed.

Our home is warm, calm, and organized. We value professionalism, reliability, and someone who takes genuine pride in their work. This is a household that functions well—we are looking for someone who will make it function even better.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is a self‑starter who walks in, reads the room, and gets to work without needing much direction. You naturally notice when supplies are running low, when something needs attention, or when there is an opportunity to make the household run more smoothly, and simply handle it.

You genuinely enjoy being in the kitchen and are a confident home cook who is comfortable preparing healthy, family‑friendly meals and taking ownership of meal planning and prep. You are health‑conscious, organized, and proactive. A passion for cooking or more advanced culinary skills is not required, but would be a dream fit!

You are comfortable working independently and quietly within a busy household, particularly when the parents are working from home. You are warm and personable while also knowing how to give the family space, and you are at ease around independent, self‑sufficient teenagers.

Dependability and punctuality are essential , and you take your schedule and commitments seriously. Above all, you are someone the family can count on.

Key Responsibilities
Meal Planning & Prep

Prepare approximately 3 fresh, in‑home dinners per week, preferably Tuesday–Thursday

Prepare 1–2 make‑ahead or batch items each week for weekday lunches and/or the weekend, such as soups or prepped proteins

Grocery shop in person, with a preference for selecting fresh produce and ingredients

Prepare meals with a health‑conscious approach; there are no dietary restrictions, and family food preferences will be shared

Handle kitchen cleanup after cooking, including dishes, counters, and a daily kitchen reset

Household Organization & Maintenance

Maintain a tidy, organized, and well‑functioning home through daily resets and light household upkeep

Proactively notice and handle small household needs as they arise, such as plant care,

replacing bulbs or batteries, and keeping key spaces organized

Identify and communicate maintenance or repair needs to the family

Support seasonal organization and household projects as needed, including clothing rotations and donation drop‑offs

Provide occasional support with holiday, guest, and special‑event preparation as time allows

Inventory & Errands

Maintain a running household shopping and supply list (especially, grocery)

Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies on an ongoing basis

Mail and package handling, including unboxing and breaking down cardboard for recycling

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects

Occasional deep cleaning of appliances, fridge, oven, and baseboards (items not covered by the regular cleaner)

Refresh and organize the mudroom and high traffic areas

Laundry & Linens

Wash, fold, and organize bedding, kitchen towels, dishcloths, cleaning rags, and similar items, as needed (personal laundry excluded)

Keep the laundry area tidy, organized, and stocked with household essentials

Additional household linen support is especially appreciated when both parents are traveling

Pet Care

Provide light, day‑to‑day support, including fresh water, occasional feeding, and walks when her regular dog walker is unavailable

Help coordinate occasional pet‑related needs, such as mobile grooming visits or infrequent vet transportation

Keep an eye on and restock dog food, treats, and other supplies as needed

Family Support

Provide occasional support with family transportation, appointments, activities, or errands as needed

Be comfortable working around independent teenagers and their friends; active supervision is not expected

Offer flexibility for occasional evening support

Please note: this role requires a background check.
