- Provide customers with timely design solutions, product recommendations, and pricing information
- Work closely with the sales team to grow existing customers and develop new customer business
- Generate approximately 90 quotes per month and/or manage half a territory
- Contact customers to gather project information, specifications, and requirements
- Prioritize quotation requests based on dealer tiers, customer requested dates, and first-in-first-out order
- Plan 2D and 3D drawings, coloured renderings, and parts lists
- Filter special requests through the Engineering Decision Tree and consult Engineering on custom requests
- Review drawings and parts lists for accuracy
- Obtain material up-charge information from Purchasing or Engineering
- Present customers with final drawings, pricing, and project information
- Recommend additional items and increase sales through cross‑selling, up‑selling, add‑on sales, and promotional items
- Educate customers on product terminology, features, and benefits
- Coordinate with Customer Service and Order Analysts to transition quotes to orders
- Cover orders and territories for team members when they are away
- Increase company sales, customer satisfaction, and average order size
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Degree, Diploma, or Certificate from a post‑secondary institution; or two years experience in Interior Design, Industrial Design, Engineering, or any related field
- Previous Project Management experience is considered an asset
- Ability to read, interpret, and re‑create Architectural Drawings/Floor Plans and written specifications
- Knowledge of CET, Auto CAD, CAD KEY, 20-20, Giza, rendering software, Microsoft Word, Excel/Lotus, and email
- Capacity to learn recent computer programs, adapt to a changing environment, and handle multiple tasks
- Clear, polite,
and friendly speaking manner; excellent phone skills; good listening, spelling, and grammar skills
- Good organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize workload
- Ability to work as a team and communicate with co‑workers; leadership skills and empathy
- Ability to perform arithmetic using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Understanding of basic geometry and algebra
- Ability to apply common‑sense understanding and rationalization to written, oral, or diagrammed instructions
- Ability to troubleshoot and negotiate in complex and crisis situations
- Knowledge of the industry, product, space planning, and the entire order process
- Ability to competently facilitate the order process through understanding Tayco's offerings and finishes
