Job Summary
The Team
The Integrated Child Protection Team is a close-knit and collaborative group of five Child Protection Workers, one Child and Youth Family Support Woker, one Social Program Officer Assistant, and the Team Leader. In the Dawson Creek Integrated Office, the team works alongside other internal Ministry Service Delivery teams and local agencies, to provide service and support to Dawson Creek. The team members are dedicated and passionate in supporting the safety and well-being of children, youth, and families in the community with family-centred practice at the heart of their work.

The Role
This Team Leader, Integrated Services role offers the opportunity to lead, coach, and support a dedicated team while building robust relationships with community partners to improve outcomes for local children, youth, and families. As part of an experienced group of Team Leaders across the Northeast, you will have opportunities to collaborate, share knowledge, and learn from colleagues, ensuring you are supported while helping build capacity in a small rural community. Qualifications: Education and Experience Requirements
Applicants may be considered who meet the preferred OR expanded credentials and experience requirements

1. Preferred Credentials:

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Social Work or in Child & Youth Care OR Master's Degree in Educational Counselling Psychology/Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology with completion of a practicum in family and child welfare OR





In-service Ministry of Children and Family Development employees who have a regular full working level SPO 24-30 base position that requires delegation under the Child, Family and Community Services Act (CFCSA) OR

A candidate may be considered equivalent when they are registered and a member in good standing with the BC College of Social Workers or has a letter from the College confirming that their application for registration has been approved. NOTE: If this education was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES ). You must provide a comprehensive report and the MCFD supplemental report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.

At least 2 years of job-specific work experience.

Experience supervising staff.

2. Expanded Credentials:

Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services field OR Bachelor’s Degree witha Major/Honors in a Human Services field OR Master’s level graduate Certificate/Diploma in a Human Services field AFTER the completion of an unrelated Bachelor’s Degree.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered. NOTE: If this education was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES ). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.

Minimum 1 year of related work experience and at least 2 years of job-specific work experience OR At least 3 years of job-specific work experience.

Experience supervising staff.

Human Services fields include:
Psychology, Sociology, Criminology, Anthropology, Early Childhood Education, Indigenous Studies, Education, Theology or Nursing.

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

Preferred education credentials AND/OR in-service Ministry of Children and Family Development employees who hold a regular full working level SPO 24-30 base position that requires delegation under the Child, Family and Community Services Act (CFCSA).





Currently hold, or within the past two (2)years held, C6 Delegation under the Child, Family and Community Services Act (CFSCA).

Six (6) months or more experience supervising staff.

Applicants who self-identify as Indigenous with the required combination of education and experience.

Please note:

Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).

About this Position
There is currently one (1) full time permanent position available. Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to two (2) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement. An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies. A Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) will be required. Dawson Creek is a historical and beautiful town in thenorthern Rockies . Enjoy outdoor activities like bird watching and hiking past waterfalls in alpine meadows and mountains ridges. Popular camping and fishing spots can be found in the provincial parks of Swan Lake and Kiskatinaw. In winter, explore downhill and cross-country skiing at nearby Bear Mountain. Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
