About the Opportunity
This permanent Electrical Designer opportunity is ideal for a creative, technically minded qualified who enjoys turning concepts into practical electrical designs. Working within a highly technical engineering and manufacturing environment, you’ll contribute to automated and semi-automated equipment while supporting projects where quality, precision, and collaboration matter.
You’ll work closely with Professional Engineers, Technologists, Instrumentation and Controls teams, operations personnel, and other technical partners. Your designs will support multidisciplinary projects spanning electrical, controls, mechanical, software, systems engineering, and manufacturing.

Your Responsibilities
You’ll develop concept designs into detailed drawings and bills of materials using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Autodesk Inventor, and related tools
You’ll create and update assembly drawings, block diagrams, cable drawings, wiring diagrams, wiring lists, and BOMs
In this role,
you’ll select instrumentation, control, and power components based on engineering requirements
You’ll participate in design reviews and customer meetings, providing technical input and resource information
You’ll collaborate with design and operations stakeholders to gather site-specific requirements
You’ll manage assigned project deliverables with accountability for cost and schedule
Skills and Qualifications
5+ years of related electrical systems design experience, including electrical and controls design drafting, is preferred
Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology diploma, with CET designation and OACETT or equivalent membership considered assets
Hands-on AutoCAD and SolidWorks experience is required, with AutoCAD Electrical, Inventor, IntEC or online wiring, and 3D parametric modelling experience considered assets
Robust knowledge of drafting fundamentals, control system design, and design processes
Experience in the CANDU nuclear industry and knowledge of Engineering Change Control concepts are considered assets
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, teamwork, presentation, technical writing, and communication skills
Ability to multitask, work independently, and collaborate effectively across engineering disciplines
