Job Location: Based at 242144 112 St, De Winton AB, T0L 0X0, but required to work in various locations in the Calgary and surrounding areas (Airdrie, Crossfield, Chestermere, Okotoks, etc.)
Wage: $25.00 – $27.00/hour (based on skills and experience, salary increases per company policy)
Advantages: Extended medical
Employment terms and conditions: Seasonal, Full-time, Monday to Friday, and every other Saturday, 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. (10.5 hours per day; hours may vary depending on weather).
Anticipated start date: early spring 2027 (actual start date is weather-dependent)
Job requirements:
Language: Basic English
Experience: 4 seasons of related experience or equivalent
Areas of work: Parks, green spaces, sports fields, environmental reserves, retention ponds, irrigation, maintenance, civil earth moving, horticulture
Worksite environment: Outdoor, wet, noisy, dusty, hot
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
Work conditions: Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, tight deadlines, repetitive tasks
Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, handling heavy loads (up to 23 kg/50 lbs), manual dexterity,
attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, bending, crouching, kneeling, combination of sitting, standing, walking
Personal Suitability: Dependability, reliability, efficient interpersonal skills, organized, team player
Install and maintain landscape (sod, trees, shrubs, turf, live plant materials, mulch, erosion control measures, etc.)
Install hardscape (pavers, boulders, retaining walls, etc.)
Install structures (signs, site furniture, structural art, etc.)
Work alongside heavy equipment operators and other trades
General site cleaning and maintenance
Use of shovels, spades, rakes and other hand tools
General construction/landscape site work, as needed (e.g., picking up and transporting tools and materials, washing equipment, testing and repairing irrigation systems, minor equipment repairs and maintenance, etc.)
