About the Role Our client is seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer specialized in Transmission & Distribution to join their team in Kimberley. This role is essential for the design, development, and maintenance of the electrical grid infrastructure serving the Northern Cape region. You will be involved in planning, analyzing, and implementing projects to enhance the reliability and capacity of the T&D; network. This hands-on position offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute directly to the region's energy infrastructure development and maintenance, working on critical projects in Kimberley.
Key Responsibilities Design, specify, and oversee the installation of high-voltage electrical equipment for transmission and distribution systems.
Conduct load flow, fault analysis, and protection coordination studies for the grid network.
Manage T&D; projects from conception through to commissioning, ensuring adherence to budget and schedule.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to substation equipment and power lines.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.




Collaborate with planning, operations, and construction teams to optimize grid performance.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Systems.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in transmission and distribution engineering.
Proficiency with power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E).
Solid understanding of substation design, overhead lines, and underground cabling.
Knowledge of protection systems and relay coordination is required.
Solid project management and problem-solving skills for an on-site role.
