Join the UBCO ASSET Team as a Structural Testing and Laboratory Technician, where your skills in experimental testing will enhance the safety of infrastructure. This role is focused on hands-on support in a cooperative environment.
As a key member of the research support team, you will conduct large-scale testing of reinforced and precast concrete and structural steel. You will collaborate with academic staff and facilitate innovative research, ensuring all safety protocols are met. Your role will be crucial in driving forward engineering knowledge and sustainable practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Fabricate and install experimental arrangements for research
• Handle cutting, drilling, welding, and mechanical assembly tasks
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and records
• Monitor and troubleshoot test equipment during experiments
• Assist in improving and documenting laboratory setups
Requirements:
• Background in structural testing methodologies
• Familiarity with tools and laboratory safety procedures
• Ability to create and revise technical drawings
• Effective communication and coordination skills
• Experience managing project timelines and schedules
