Shape the future of research ethics at the University of Manitoba as the Director of Human Research Ethics. This full time position ensures compliance and policy development for human participant research initiatives. The Director serves as a strategic advisor to the Vice-President (Research and International), focusing on establishing ethical frameworks for research protocols.
This role demands strong analytical skills, along with leadership in implementing high standards in research ethics education. Collaborating with diverse university units and external partners, you will ensure the alignment of policies with strategic goals while fostering an inclusive environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead ethical review and compliance processes for human research
- Direct training for faculty and research teams
- Draft and implement new policies under VPRI jurisdiction
- Foster collaboration across university strategic initiatives
- Monitor compliance with research ethics regulations
Requirements:
- PhD in a relevant field of study
- 5 years of related experience in research ethics
- Expertise in TCPS2, FIPPA, and other regulations
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proven ability to lead organizational change initiatives
