**Machinist**
**Location:**
Arnprior, ON (25 minutes from Nepean, Ottawa)
**Shifts:**
Friday-Sunday 12 hour shifts (with lots of OT available)

In this role, you will perform manual and CNC machining operations, interpret complex technical drawings, and manufacture high-precision components to demanding tolerances.

Working in a clean, safety-focused environment, you'll contribute to projects supporting critical infrastructure and advanced industrial applications while continuously developing your technical expertise.
**Responsibilities**
Set up and operate CNC/manual machining equipment (mostly lathes)
Perform turning and precision machining operations
Machine complex components to tight tolerances
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Maintain quality and safety standards throughout production
**Essential Skills**
5+ years of machining experience with a strong balance of
**manual and CNC machining (lathes)**
Ability to read and interpret
**blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics**
Skilled in machining
**steel and aluminum**
to tight tolerances
Working knowledge of
**CNC lathe programming and machining principles**
Strong attention to detail, quality, and precision measurements
Eligible to work in a
**Controlled Goods**
environment and pass a background check
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
429A General Machinist, 492A, or equivalent trade certification
Experience programming and setting up CNC machines
Familiarity with Solid

Works, GibbsCAM, or similar CAD/CAM software
Experience machining specialty alloys such as Titanium, Stainless Steel, Inconel, and Zirconium

**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of Ottawa, ON.
**Pay and Advantages**
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $44.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
