Enhance the efficiency of fleet maintenance as an Inventory Control Specialist with the City of Hamilton's Transit Department. This role focuses on managing and tracking inventory for vital transit operations.
As a vital part of the team, you will report to the Superintendent, Transit Maintenance Capital Planning and Contracts. Your primary duties will include accurate inventory record-keeping, performing material handling tasks, and ensuring the timely availability of necessary parts for fleet reliability. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated experience in inventory systems and robust organizational skills within a maintenance environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage all inventory database entries and verifications
• Inspect and stock incoming materials efficiently
• Identify and procure replacement parts using technical resources
• Monitor and reconcile stock discrepancies proactively
• Maintain a safe and organized stockroom
Requirements:
• Proven experience with inventory procedures
• Skilled in using enterprise inventory management systems
• Must hold a valid Class "G" Ontario Driver's license
• Able to operate various material handling equipment
• Physically capable of lifting heavy items and working on feet
