The Limestone District School Board is seeking an Indigenous Social Worker. This contract role focuses on mental health support, enabling culturally relevant interventions for Indigenous students.

Reporting to the Mental Health Lead, you'll work closely with the Indigenous Education Team to provide necessary therapeutic interventions. Your primary responsibility will involve addressing the mental health and substance use issues faced by Indigenous students in both elementary and secondary schools. You will also facilitate access to vital community resources and support educational staff in mental health training initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide in-person and virtual mental health counseling
• Educate students about Indigenous community resources




• Conduct crisis and suicide interventions
• Maintain accurate student records
• Participate in research related to student well-being

Requirements:
• Master's Degree in Social Work, Indigenous preferred
• Registered with Ontario College of Social Workers
• Relevant experience in mental health or education
• Skills in individual assessment and therapy
• Access to a vehicle for service delivery
