Positioned within the Occupational Health and Safety team, this 6-month term assignment requires expertise in managing asbestos and other substances. You’ll interpret technical reports and maintain comprehensive safety records, impacting the health and safety of the school community. Strong communication skills and experience in a unionized setting will be vital for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Inspect designated substances for safety compliance
• Review and interpret technical safety reports
• Maintain detailed records of inspections
• Support investigations from the Ministry of Labour
• Communicate with various stakeholders regarding safety matters
Requirements:
• Post-secondary degree in Occupational Health & Safety
• 3-5 years in occupational health and safety roles
• Familiarity with Ontario's OH&S; Act and Regulations
• Robust organizational and time management skills
• Access to transportation for site visits
