School District 71 is hiring a temporary Online Learning Counsellor to support grades 10-12 students. Deliver mental health services online and in person, facilitating their growth and well-being.
In this 0.50 FTE role, you will assist students facing challenges by offering mental health guidance and organizing programs for community engagement. Responsibilities include managing behavior IEPs and coordinating with post-secondary institutions for student transitions. The ideal candidate will enhance online student resources for successful learning.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide holistic mental health support to students
• Facilitate classes focused on mindfulness and anxiety management
• Develop and oversee IEPs for behavior and mental health
• Assist students in transitioning to community-based programs
• Maintain student records and coordinate exam sessions
Requirements:
• Master’s Degree in counselling or a relevant field
• Experience in secondary education counselling
• Skilled in educational technology tools
• Familiarity with adult education methodologies
• Experience supporting adult learners' pathways
