Lead community engagement and nutrition programs as the Healthy Families Program Lead. This role focuses on enhancing food literacy among Métis families with children, promoting wellness through culturally sensitive initiatives.
In this position, you will spearhead a variety of programs aimed at improving the nutrition and wellness of Métis families, particularly those with children up to age eight. Collaborating with Elders and community partners, you will create resources that embed traditional food knowledge within family routines. Your expertise in program coordination will ensure the delivery of effective and impactful initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop program guidelines and resource strategies
• Conduct research on community food initiatives and education
• Facilitate workshops on healthy family routines and gardening
• Build partnerships with service providers for nutrition support
• Track program budgets and report on engagement metrics
Requirements:
• Diploma in Early Childhood Education or related field ideally
• At least three years of experience in community engagement
• Solid knowledge of Métis culture and food systems
• Proven skills in advocacy, funding applications, and proposals
• Class 5 driver’s license may be required
