Superintendent, Water & Wastewater Treatment - Permanent - 4303
About the Opportunity A water treatment plant is one of the few builds where five disciplines share the spotlight. Civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, process; it all comes together in the field, by capable superintendents who are up to the task of navigating those scopes interfacing in real time. For anyone wanting to build or test their knowledge and leadership skills as a field leader, there are few builds that compare.
With the right team, it can be a responsible career-building path to walk.
Our partner is a self-performing civil contractor that has grown from sewer-and-watermain roots into a major infrastructure builder, without ever handing off the thing that made them special: caring how the work gets done. Its water and wastewater business is proven and growing now, with opportunities for an ambitious superintendent to grow with them. Their goal is to take on larger treatment facilities and pumping stations across the GTA, and they are deepening their field leadership to build the right way, with support from a talented group with a track record for excellence and a focus on quality.
If you want to stay challenged and be rewarded as you grow with a notable player in Ontario Infrastructure, why not learn more? It’s only a confidential chat after all!
About You
You run organized, safe, productive sites, and you know that builds like these reward the leader who can sequence trades and plan for the challenges before they happen. You hold schedule, quality, and safety in the same hand without dropping any of them.
Would you say that?
- You've run heavy civil or infrastructure sites as a Superintendent, with real exposure to water, wastewater, or treatment environments
- You're comfortable coordinating the interfaces that make treatment builds harder than a standard civil job: concrete, structural, mechanical, electrical, and process, all landing on the same site
- You see the constructability problem before it shows up on the schedule
- You build crews and subcontractor relationships that hold up under pressure, not just when the job is easy
- You care how the job gets built, and how people get treated while it's being built
You're not looking for a quieter site. You're after a harder one that's worth building, with a company that backs your judgment once you're on it.
About the Job
As Superintendent, you'll be the primary on-site leader on water and wastewater treatment projects from mobilization through commissioning. That means coordinating crews, subcontractors, equipment, and sequencing; holding the line on safety, quality, and specification; developing your fore people and junior field staff; and being the company's face to owners, engineers, and stakeholders on site.
In return, you'll gain:
- Real exposure to complex infrastructure across the civil spectrum and opportunities for genuine growth
- The backing of a well-capitalized, self-performing contractor that has kept the hands-on mindset of a smaller firm at the scale of a major one
- Respect for field judgment and practical decision-making
- A culture built on ownership, accountability, safety, and teamwork
- Competitive compensation: salary ranging from $120,000 to $160,000, bonus and benefits reflecting the seniority of the work and the value you bring
This is a major contractor with the feel of a business that still knows its people, putting trust and value into a strong Superintendent.
