The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for the daily management and engagement of the Accounts Payable Team, with specific accountability for accounts payable operations, financial controls, and audit strategy.

Summary:
The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for the daily management of the payment process and engagement of the accounts payable team. This role oversees the timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices and payments, supports strong vendor and branch relationships, and acts as a resource to ensure appropriate compliance with policy and efficient accounting processes.
Jobs Duties:
Lead, coach, and engage the accounts payable team, to ensure accurate, timely, and vendor-focused service delivery.
Oversee the full accounts payable cycle, including vendor invoice processing, approval workflows, payment runs, employee reimbursements, and related documentation
Ensure vendor invoices are reviewed, coded, matched to PO's and receiving reports, approved, and paid in accordance with policy, payment terms, authority, and internal control requirements
Manage vendor relationships by responding to inquiries, resolving payment and discount discrepancies, reconciling vendor statements, and supporting timely issue resolution
Maintain accurate accounts payable records, vendor master data, financial documentation, and audit-ready files in accordance with accepted accounting practices
Support month and year end close and external audit activities,



coordinating accounts payable reconciliations, accruals, reporting, and analysis
Drive process improvement by identifying and resolving issues, streamlining accounts payable workflows, leveraging automation where appropriate, and collaborating with branch locations, procurement, operations, and finance
Comfortable working with online banking and related software
Comfortable working in an environment that uses EDI (electronic data interchange), OCR (optical character recognition) and three-way matching in a multiple location environment
Other responsibilities as required
Requirements:
Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in Commerce or Business Administration, or an acceptable combination of education and relevant experience required.
Minimum of five years related accounts payable experience
Minimum of two years related supervisory expereince
A doer with a professional and positive attitude
Personable and strong communication, ability to lead and achieve results
Highly organized, a problem-solver who can work well under pressure
