Make a difference as a Mental Health Nurse at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg. This role focuses on providing mental health expertise and support within the Emergency Department, requiring in-person commitment.
The Psychiatric Liaison Nurse plays a vital role within the Mental Health POD. You will assess patients' mental health needs, provide crisis intervention, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams. Your experience in acute mental health and communication skills will directly impact patient care and support during emergencies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess and evaluate patients' mental health in the ED
• Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop care strategies
• Collaborate with inpatient units for mental health solutions
• Engage and support families during challenging times
• Lead in crisis and therapeutic interventions
Requirements:
• 3 years of recent acute mental health experience
• Graduate of an approved nursing/psychiatric program
• Registration with College of Registered Nurses or CRPNM
• Experience in urgent care preferred
• Robust communication and assessment skills
