Join the City of New Westminster as a Skating Instructor, teaching in our popular 'Learn to Skate' program. This auxiliary position requires a strong skating background and offers flexible hours.
We offer a great chance to inspire youth and adults of all skill levels at Moody Park Arena. Instructors will lead lessons from October 13 to December 17, 2026, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. You'll also create daily lesson plans and write evaluations for students while ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach skating to individuals aged 2.5 years and above
• Conduct engaging public skate sessions
• Draft and implement structured lesson plans
• Evaluate student performance with written feedback
• Foster a protected and encouraging atmosphere for learning
Requirements:
• Solid ice skating skills essential
• Minimum age of 16 years
• Valid Emergency First Aid and CPR C certification
• Experience in recreational settings preferred
• Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector Check mandatory
