Become a vital part of maternal services as a Birth Support Worker for the Prince Albert Grand Council. Provide emotional and cultural support to Indigenous mothers during birth.

This role at Prince Albert Grand Council invites you to support Indigenous women through their prenatal and early postpartum experiences. As a Birth Support Worker, your responsibilities will span advocating for birth plans and providing comfort during labor. Collaboration with healthcare teams will ensure culturally secure practices and representation of Indigenous needs in maternal care.

Key Responsibilities:



• Liaise with Elders and Cultural Advisors for guidance • Assist women in developing and advocating for their birth plans • Facilitate emotional and informational support for families • Participate in team meetings and handover processes • Collect data and contribute to health research

Requirements: • Enrollment in or completion of birth support certifications • Knowledge of medical terminology and birth physiology • Familiarity with Traditional Birthing Practices • Valid driver's license and ability to travel • Flexibility in working hours as needed
