Part time Driver

Company description

Daily Fresh Shellfish is federally registered seafood processor, exporter & distributor of quality Canadian seafood in both domestic and export markets.

We are looking for a reliable and responsible Part-Time Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering seafood products to customers and assisting with loading and unloading shipments.

Responsibilities

- Safely operate a company vehicle for local and regional deliveries.
- Pick up and deliver seafood products to customers, restaurants, wholesalers, and other locations.
- Load and unload products, including boxes, totes, and seafood containers.
- Ensure products are handled carefully and maintained at the required temperature during transportation.
- Check delivery quantities and ensure orders are delivered accurately.
- Complete delivery paperwork and obtain customer signatures when required.
- Communicate professionally with customers and report any delivery issues to management.
- Keep the vehicle clean and in good operating condition.
- Perform basic vehicle safety checks before and after trips.
- Follow all company food-safety, workplace-safety, and transportation procedures.
- Other general warehouse and shipping duties as required.

Requirements
- Valid Class 5 BC driver's licence with a clean or acceptable driving record.
- Previous commercial driving or delivery experience is an asset.




- Experience handling food or perishable products is an asset.
- Ability to safely lift and move boxes/totes weighing up to approximately 50 lb (23 kg).
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
- Good communication and customer-service skills.
- Able to work independently and manage delivery schedules.
- Comfortable working in a refrigerated/cold environment when required.
- Basic English communication skills.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience delivering seafood, food products, or other temperature-sensitive products.
- Experience with local deliveries in the Richmond / Vancouver / Lower Mainland/Vancouver Island area.
- Familiarity with commercial delivery procedures and shipping documentation.
- Flexible availability, including occasional early-morning deliveries.
