We are currently seeking a full-time, permanent Truss Designer to join our team!

The successful candidate will work onsite in the office (a hybrid arrangement can be discussed), and is responsible for designing and preparing wood roof truss systems for residential, agricultural, and commercial construction projects. The Truss Designer interprets building plans and specifications, develops accurate and efficient truss designs, and works closely with sales, production, and customers to ensure designs meet structural, code, manufacturing, and project requirements.

Duties Include:

- Design wood roof trusses based on building plans, specifications, applicable building codes, TPIC requirements, loading conditions, and engineering criteria.
- Prepare and review truss layouts, designs, and data files to ensure accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project requirements.
- Review building plans and identify design requirements, potential issues, and necessary revisions.
- Determine or assist with job costing and pricing as required.
- Coordinate with sales and production to provide design support, resolve issues, and make revisions as required.
- Ensure completed designs are properly documented and released for production in accordance with company procedures.

What We're Looking For:

- 2+ years of experience in truss design or a related structural design position.
- Experience with MiTek Sapphire software preferred.
- Strong mathematical and technical skills with an understanding of structural loads and building design principles.
- Knowledge of applicable building codes, TPIC requirements,



and wood truss design principles.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural building plans.
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn industry-specific software.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Valid Ontario G driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
