Position: Senior Systems Testing / QA Specialist

Duration: 1 Year assignment (contract)
Client Location: Toronto (Onsite: 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)

About the Engagement

Akkodis is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Testing / QA Specialist to support quality assurance and system testing activities for complex public sector healthcare applications and integrations.

The successful consultant will lead testing initiatives across multiple streams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, secure, accessible, and reliable solutions. This role requires strong expertise in healthcare systems testing, automation, API validation, data verification, defect management, accessibility compliance, and enterprise application testing within both Agile and traditional project delivery environments.

Scope

Develop comprehensive testing strategies, test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test datasets.

Perform functional, non-functional, integration, regression, security, accessibility, and user acceptance testing.

Execute testing of web applications, APIs, web services, reporting solutions, and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) products.

Validate data integrity through SQL queries, data reconciliation, and reporting verification.

Assignment Deliverables

Comprehensive test strategies and test plans.

Detailed test cases, test scripts, automated test scripts, and test execution schedules.

Functional, integration, regression, security, accessibility, and performance testing results.

API and web service testing documentation and validation reports.





Expertise Required

Must Have:

7+ years of experience as a Senior Systems Testing / QA Specialist leading testing activities for enterprise applications.

Experience planning, organizing, coordinating, and executing testing efforts across multiple projects and streams.

Strong knowledge of testing methodologies within object-oriented application environments.

Experience with all phases of testing including strategy development, planning, test case design, execution, defect management, and reporting.

Experience testing mission-critical, high-volume transactional, healthcare, and enterprise systems.

Experience performing functional and non-functional testing of:

o Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) solutions

o Custom web applications

o HL7-FHIR web services

o RESTful APIs

o JSON/XML integrations

o Reporting and Business Intelligence solutions

Nice to Have:

Familiarity with healthcare registries, audit services, and related public health technology platforms.

Experience validating deployments in production environments and supporting post-release verification activities.
