Overview

IRON Trailers & Equipment MFG INC. is seeking experienced, highly skilled Welder / Welder Fitters to join our team in Ajax, ON. We specialize in custom trailer manufacturing (including Steel Dumps, Tinscow trailers, and Roll-Off boxes) as well as heavy-duty fleet service, structural steel rebuilds, and custom fabrication.

In this role, you will fabricate, fit, and weld heavy-duty equipment and structural steel components. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and take pride in build quality that keeps commercial fleets on the road, we want to hear from you!

Requirements (No Exceptions):

- Certification: Must hold a current, valid CWB ticket (Canadian Welding Bureau).
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with MIG and Stick welding.
- Materials & Positions: Proven proficiency with Aluminum and Stainless Steel in all positions.
- Availability: Ready to start immediately.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform structural MIG and Stick welding on trailer bodies, steel dump boxes, roll-off containers, frames, and custom equipment.
- Execute high-quality aluminum welding and structural steel fabrication for heavy-duty fleet repairs and extensions.
- Read and interpret engineering blueprints, shop drawings, and structural schematics to accurately assemble and fit components.




- Use shop equipment including plasma cutters, press brakes, ironworkers, hand tools, and power tools to cut, shape, and prep material.
- Measure and inspect dimensions precisely using tape measures, calipers, and squares to ensure correct fitment and alignment.
- Assist in rigging, hoisting, and positioning heavy steel frames, dump boxes, or components safely using overhead cranes or forklifts.
- Adhere to shop safety standards, welding procedures, and quality standards at all times.

Assets / Preferred Qualifications:

- Strong blueprint reading and assembly layout/fitting skills.
- Prior experience in trailer manufacturing, scrap hauler rebuilding, or heavy equipment fabrication.
- Experience operating plasma cutters, press brakes, and shop machinery.

Pay & Perks:

- Pay Rate: $25.00 – $28.00 per hour (based on experience).
- Job Type: Full-time, Permanent.
- Start Date: Immediate.
