Window Cleaning Technician — Independent Contractor

Clean Slate is looking for hardworking, energetic, and customer-focused Window Cleaning Technicians to join our team as independent contractors.
This is a outstanding opportunity for someone who wants to learn a valuable trade, work independently, and build their income without having to find their own customers.
Clean Slate provides the customers, jobs, specialized equipment, and training. You bring the work ethic, professionalism, and willingness to learn.
What You'll Do
- Travel to multiple residential properties throughout Winnipeg and surrounding areas
- Perform professional exterior and interior window cleaning
- Operate water-fed pole systems and specialized window-cleaning equipment
- Set up and safely use ladders when required
- Clean windows, frames, sills, screens, and tracks
- Work on properties up to 3 stories
- Carry and set up equipment throughout the day
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain
- Communicate professionally with homeowners
- Perform a final walkthrough with the customer to ensure quality and satisfaction
- Collect cash or cheques when applicable
- Take jobsite photos when required
- Update the company app/CRM with job information and notes
- Request customer reviews
- Identify opportunities to provide additional services such as gutter cleaning, interior window cleaning, screens, tracks, and other services
- Maintain Clean Slate's standards for quality, speed, professionalism, and customer service
Compensation Contractors earn a percentage of each completed job, with opportunities to increase their percentage as they gain experience, demonstrate reliability, and consistently meet Clean Slate's quality standards.
- Trainee: 15%
- Beginner: 20%
- Experienced: 22.5%
- Top Technician: 25%
- Expert: Up to 30%
There are also additional commission opportunities for successfully upselling services to customers. A motivated technician can begin earning approximately $200+ per day, with significantly higher earning potential as their skills and efficiency develop.
Contractors are paid biweekly by e-transfer.

You do not need to purchase your own window-cleaning equipment.
Training
No previous window-cleaning experience is required. Experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person.

Training begins with approximately 2-5 days of virtual training, followed by approximately 7 days of hands-on jobsite training.

Physical Requirements The work is physically demanding. You must be able to:
- Consistently lift and carry approximately 40 lbs throughout the day
- Climb and set up ladders
- Stand and walk for extended periods
- Carry equipment between vehicles and job sites
- Work at heights of up to 3 stories
- Work outdoors in hot, cold, and wet conditions
Schedule This is a seasonal,
full-time workload from approximately April through November.
During peak season, there is an opportunity to work 5–7 days per week, with schedules and job assignments coordinated according to business demand.
Workdays can range from approximately 8–14 hours, depending on the schedule, workload, weather, and time of year.
Jobs are primarily located in Winnipeg and within approximately 40 km of Winnipeg.
Transportation A reliable personal vehicle is strongly preferred, but is not strictly required.
Depending on the arrangement, technicians may travel to jobs independently, meet at a designated central location, or travel with other team members/equipment.
Independent Contractor Requirements
This is an independent contractor opportunity, not an employee position.
Contractors are responsible for their own:
- Taxes
- WCB requirements
- Liability insurance
- Safety equipment/PPE required for their work
- Vehicle and transportation expenses
- Fuel
- Other expenses associated with operating as an independent contractor
Contractors must have a valid Class 5 driver's licence. A clean driver's abstract is preferred. A written independent contractor agreement will be required before beginning work.
