Support students with emotional and behavioral challenges as a Youth Care Worker in a school setting. Collaborate with educators to create and implement individualized education plans. As a Youth Care Worker, you will report to the Principal and assist in developing strategies for students facing social and behavioral difficulties.
This role requires excellent communication skills, a two-year diploma in child or youth care, and experience in education. You will work closely with teachers and families to facilitate academic and social interventions. Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain communication with teachers, counselors, and families
- Conduct home and community visits for better support
- Develop and implement interventions for challenging behaviors
- Organize field trips and special events for students
- Assist in evaluating and reporting on student progress
Requirements:
- Grade 12 education and relevant diploma/certificate
- Two years of related experience, including education
- Valid British Columbia driver's license
- Solid verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage challenging behaviors
