Reporting to the Vice President, Major Projects, the incumbent is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and execution of multiple large-scale construction projects. The role ensures the achievement of project objectives related to cost, schedule, quality, health and safety, and client satisfaction while leading project teams and managing key stakeholder relationships.

What you will do :

- Coordinate projects in collaboration with Project Managers (schedules, manpower requirements, equipment needs, etc.).
- Manage drawings, specifications, and addenda.
- Manage project changes, directives, and related documentation.

Construction Planning
- Participate in defining client requirements.
- Select and retain professionals and consultants.
- Establish project budgets and overall project planning.
- Develop the master project schedule.
- Review constructability, including budget, cost, schedule, client requirements, and value engineering.
- Ensure all required permits and authorizations are obtained and comply with applicable laws and regulations.
- Oversee the development of drawings and specifications.
- Prepare cost estimates and conduct value analysis.
- Prepare and deliver all required legal documentation during the initial client meeting.

Tendering and Contract Management
- Prepare all documentation required to launch tendering processes.
- Develop the master schedule, including key construction milestones, constraints, and work methodologies.
- Oversee tendering activities.
- Finalize project drawings and specifications.
- Analyze and negotiate bids and proposals.
- Prepare recommendations and contract award submissions and obtain client approval.
- Award contracts to subcontractors and suppliers.

Project Coordination




- Establish project construction teams in collaboration with the Vice President, Site Human Resources Director, and Logistics Director.
- Oversee the development of construction methodologies in collaboration with the Vice President and Superintendent.
- Approve activity lists required for the preparation of prevention and safety programs.
- Establish project cost-tracking and accounting structures.
- Resolve disputes and claims in collaboration with the Project Manager.
- Organize and lead site meetings as required.
- Oversee the preparation of project closeout manuals and ensure all conditions, procedures, and technical requirements are properly documented.

Project Monitoring and Control
- Oversee administrative project controls, including costs, contingencies, force account work, claims, and change management.
- Authorize accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Approve payments to subcontractors and suppliers.
- Maintain strong business relationships with current and past clients to support future opportunities.
- Monitor client satisfaction and maintain positive client relationships.
- Approve final project reviews, including construction methods, productivity ratios, and unit costs.
- Business Development
- Represent the company with prospective clients to secure new business opportunities.




- Represent the organization at industry events and networking activities aligned with company objectives.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective clients.
- Participate in events that enhance the company's visibility and market presence.

Project Team Leadership
- Build, mentor, and lead high-performing project teams.
- Ensure appropriate staffing and resource allocation across assigned projects.
- Conduct ongoing performance management and oversee all related administrative responsibilities.

This role could be for you if you have

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering.
- Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Innovative, proactive, and business-oriented mindset.
